Mt. Kanchenjunga is declared as a sacred peak and climbing is prohibited.
Few more information:
Himachal Pradesh: majority of the peaks are located in CB ranges which have BATAL as base or nearest road head. There are few wonderful peaks in Lahoul with base at MAYAR valley and rests are close to Manali like Deo Tibba, Inder Kila etc. Our last climb was
Mt. MAHINDRA in MAYAR Valley with Korean Group.
Garwhal & Kumaun Himalaya: here majority of the peaks have base at Gaomukh/ Tapovan area and in Kumaun the common base for several routes is Loharkhet.
Our last climb was Mt. Bhagirathi III with Spanish group of climbers.
Jammu & Kashmir: Majority of the high peaks are situated in Zanskar region, where we can call Kargil a common place.
Our last climb was Stok Kangri with Italian group of climbers
Sikkim: Our last expedition in Sikkim was Mt. Kanchenjunga Base with Korean Climbers.
