The route: For Valley of Flowers Trekking
We reach Haridwar from Delhi and then move to Joshimath (2100 Meters), which is a popular centre of pilgrimage and the entrance for the valley of flowers trekking. The journey to Joshimath is a fascinating one, travelling mainly up towards the Alaknanda valley. From Deoprayag a mixture of beautiful countryside and fascinating bustling small towns create a complete Himalayan imagination to a traveler. The place Deoprayag is significant because of having confluence of the two prime rivers of the Garwhal Himalayas Bhagirathi and Alaknanda.
From Joshimath, we drive to Govindghat for about an hour which is our trek starting point to Ghangaria. It is located in the northern Himalayan ranges at an altitude of 3049 meters and situated on the bank of the river Lakshman Ganga. It is the last human habitation in this tiny valley and remains open from May till September only. From here, one enters into the Valley of Flowers.
