Rajasthan- literally, "Land of Kings" or "Land of Kingdoms” is a beautiful state of India that generally offers colors of culture, sand dunes of Thar Desert, wonderful markets, Havelis and Palaces and different festivals. It is located on the western side of the country, where it comprises most of the wide and inhospitable Thar Desert (also known as the "Rajasthan Desert" and "Great Indian Desert") and shares a border with Pakistan along the Sutlej-Indus river valley.
Rajasthan is culturally rich and has artistic and cultural traditions which reflect the ancient Indian way of life. There is rich and varied folk culture from villages which is often depicted and is symbolic of the state. Highly cultivated classical music and dance with its own distinct style is part of the cultural tradition of Rajasthan. The music is uncomplicated and songs depict day-to-day relationships and chores, more often focused around fetching water from wells or ponds.
Dal-Bati-Churma is very popular in Rajasthan. Traditional way to serve it is to first coarsely mash the Baati then pour pure Ghee on top of it. It is served with the daal (lentils) and spicy garlic chutney. Also served with Besan (gram flour) ki kadi . It is commonly served at all festivities, including religious occasions, wedding ceremonies, and birthday parties in Rajasthan. "Dal-Baati-Churma", is a combination of three different food items - Daal (lentils), Baati and Churma (Sweet). It is a typical Rajasthani dish.
The Ghoomar dance from Udaipur and Kalbeliya dance of Jaisalmer have gained international recognition. Folk music is a vital part of Rajasthani culture.
Rajasthan is known for its traditional, colourful art. The block prints, tie and dye prints, Bagaru prints, Sanganer prints, and Zari embroidery are major export products from Rajasthan. Handicraft items like wooden furniture and crafts, carpets, and blue pottery are commonly found here. Rajasthan is a shoppers' paradise, with beautiful goods at low prices.

Day 01: Arrive Delhi- on your arrival at Delhi; you will meet our office representative to escort you to your hotel. Depending on the flight times, we arrange Delhi sightseeing.
Day 02: Delhi- Mandawa drive- 275 Kms- After breakfast drive to Mandawa and check-in to the hotel. Later we move out to explore this small and beautiful town of Mandawa that lies in the heart of the Shekhawati region of Rajasthan and it is known throughout the state for its forts and havelis. A remote feudal principality in the centre of the Shekhawati region, Mandawa was a trading outpost for the ancient caravan routes that stopped here from China and the Middle East. Thakur Nawal Singh, the Rajput ruler of Nawalgarh and Mandawa, built a fort in 1755 to protect this outpost. The township that grew around the fort soon attracted a large community of traders, who settled here. This town has been referred to as the "open art gallery" of Rajasthan because the entire Shekhawati region and not just Mandawa is dotted with fascinating mansions (havelis) that have lavishly painted walls.
Day 03: Mandawa- Bikaner drive- 175 Kms- Morning after breakfast, we move out to explore the Havelis and later start to Bikaner. On arrival at Bikaner, we check into the hotel and then move out to explore the city- a jewel on the desert triangle of Rajasthan. In 1488 Rao Bika established the city of Bikaner. Though it was in the Thar Desert, Bikaner was considered an oasis on the trade route between central Asia and the Gujarat coast as it had adequate spring water. Bikaner is the place of international camel festival and as usual in Rajasthan, it also offers you wonderful palaces and forts like Junagarh etc.
Day 04: Bikaner- Jaisalmer drive- 300 Kms- Morning we again spend time to visit fort and temples of Bikaner and later drive to Jaisalmer. The town stands on a ridge of yellowish sandstone, crowned by a fort, which contains the palace and several ornate Jain temples. Many of the houses and temples are finely sculptured. It lies in the heart of the Thar Desert (Great Indian Desert). Traditionally, the main source of income was the levies on the caravans. However, the glory of Jaisalmer faded when Bombay (Mumbai) emerged as a port and the sea trade replaced the traditional land routes. The partition of India in 1947 lead to closing of all the trade routes on the Indo-Pak border and rendered Jaisalmer a drought-prone desert backwater on the international border.
Day 05: Jaisalmer full day excursion- While Jaisalmer may always have been remote, it is filled with many artistic structures and monuments of local historical importance. Jaisalmer's medieval mud fortress and walled township make it a popular tourist destination. The surrounding desolate landscape evidences a stark, austere beauty. Camel safaris through the nearby desert dunes are popular among tourists and buying shawls, carpets, jewelry etc. can be a very time consuming and nerve rattling experience. Every year during January/ February, desert festival is held in Jaisalmer. Jaisalmer Fort, nearby Sand Dunes, colorful market and Desert festival make this destination a must visit destination in India.
Day 06: Jaisalmer- Jodhpur drive- 290 Kms- After breakfast we drive to Jodhpur and extreme chances are there to spot different wild animals and peacocks on the way. The city is known as the "Sun City" for the bright, sunny weather it enjoys all the year round. It is also referred to as the "Blue City" due to the vivid blue-painted houses around the Mehrangarh Fort. The old city circles the fort and is bounded by a wall with several gates. After check in to our hotel, we move out for the sightseeing of Jodhpur starting from its famous Mehrangarh Fort that towers the entire city. Jaswant Thada, Umed Bhawan Palace and Ghanta Ghar are other places we visit during the sightseeing trip of Jodhpur. A walk in the colorful market of Jodhpur can never be ignored.
Day 07: Jodhpur- Udaipur drive- 250 Kms- After breakfast drive to Udaipur enroute visiting Ranakpur Jain Temples. Jain Temples of Ranakpur built in the 15th century are situated in the lovely valley of the Aravali. Ranakpur has grand structures and beautiful sculpture. There are 1444 pillars in the temple and none of them are similar. On arrival at Udaipur, we check into the hotel and leave for the sightseeing of this beautiful place known as “lake city of Rajasthan”. Udaipur is the historic capital of the kingdom of Mewar in the former Rajputana. The Sisodia clan of Rajputa ruled the Mewar and its capital was shifted from Chittorgarh to Udaipur after founding city of Udaipur by Maharana Uday Singh. The Mewar province became part of Rajasthan after India became independent.
Apart from its history, culture, and scenic locations, it is also known for its Rajput-era palaces. Thelake Palace, for instance, covers an entire island in the Pichola Lake. Many of the palaces have been converted into luxury hotels. It is often called the "Venice of the East". We simultaneously visit Fateh Sagar, City palace and Jagdish Temple during the sightseeing.
Day 08: Udaipur- Deogarh drive- 135 Kms- Morning after breakfast we move out for little more exploration of Udaipur and then drive to Deogarh, which is known for its fortresses and nice resorts. Deogarh Palace is worth visiting and the paintings of Deogarh make one fascinated. Deogarh literally meaning “Abode of the Gods”, was once the stronghold for the Rawats of Deogarh, who were the senior most feudal barons attending on the Maharana of Udaipur. It has the distinction of being the fourth largest “jagir” or fiefdom in entire Rajasthan. Evening explore Deogarh Mahal which has a colourful story to tell, let individual parts of the palace reveal their particular associations with its various chapters in history.

The walk gives an insight into the diverse elements of the heritage of Jaipur, like traditional water systems, monuments, buildings, the living crafts and culture of the real inhabitants of the city. Later visit the City Palace, which occupies one seventh of the walled city of Jaipur. The complex is divided into a series of courtyards, sprawling gardens and buildings. It is home to several palatial structures and the City Palace Museum. Evening at leisure or we suggest you to explore the wonderful bazaars of Jaipur for jewelry, textiles, and carpets.
Day 11: Jaipur- Agra drive- 236 Kms- Morning we leave Jaipur and drive to Agra. On the way visit Fatehpur Sikri, which is a beautiful and deserted medieval city built by Akbar the Great in the 16th century to serve as the capital of his vast empire.
