Dharamsura peak (6446 M), which is called WHITE SAIL because of its shape and PAPSURA peak 6451 M (The peak of Evil) are neighboring peaks in famous Manikaran region of Parvati valley in Himachal Pradesh. Manikaran is a popular Sikh pilgrimage and Parvati valley remained quite notorious about missing trekkers from different counties in past who moved on trekking without support from recognized agencies. Once we reach Manikaran, we follow the road to TOSH village. Earlier the village was connected for jeeps only, but now the road has broadened for buses too. It is a beautiful village with about 100 plus houses and temple of local deity where entry is prohibited to outsiders. The beautiful river flows nearby and the high mountains cover Tosh village from all sides.
The trek route to these peaks start from Tosh village through two camp night halts till base camp. Generally one can find ponies and porters for this trek till BC. The both peaks are divided by a ridge of about two kilometers where the Tosh glacier is left on south and the Bara Shigri glacier in the north. Both of these mountains are not very popular among climbers simply because the peaks in this section of Indian Himalaya are rarely promoted. It is believed that the ridge between these two peaks is yet unclimbed.

Before you book any climbing expedition
Majority of our climbing expeditions go from 6000 to 8000 meters height. These expeditions are generally very challenging and strenuous. Just due to its height alone there are certain risks involved. It is again a fact that during last almost two decades we have remarkably gained experience in minimizing the risk factors, making innovations in food and other facilities but majority of our experiences restrict till base camp. Most of our climbing clients till date remained seasoned climbers but still we appeal to the participants to understand risk of mountains, their individual experience of climbing and physical fitness. The participants must be able to move independently and confidently on snow, ice and rock. They are expected to render active support in the mountain, show best team work and tolerance during the expedition. It is important that everyone is able to recognize their limits on the mountain and is prepared to retreat if necessary. The success of the expedition is the responsibility of the participants. We don’t send mountain summit leader for all peaks so the foreign expedition leader is responsible for the group as a whole after base camp. We expect everyone must be willing to accept the orders and decisions of the expedition leader taken in the interest of the group. Improvisations may be done wherever found necessary and alterations to the programme may also occur. Adventure India as a ground handling company refuses any liability for accidents, damages or loss of equipment.

Day 01: Arrive Delhi, at the airport you will find our office representative waiting for you and after meeting he will assist you to the hotel in Delhi. Necessary information will be supplied on the way from airport to hotel.
Day 02: Delhi- IMF- Mandi. Morning we will visit IMF for briefing and later in the evening, we will drive towards Manali and break our journey in Mandi. Overnight at hotel in Mandi, this is 102Kms before Manali.
Day 03: Mandi to Tosh drive. Morning we visit a popular Hindu temple named Trilokinath at Mandi and drive to Manikaran. After tea and snacks at Manikaran, we continue drive to Tosh village. We would have enough time in the evening to explore this village. Overnight stay in a hotel at Tosh Village.
Day 04: Tosh to Kutla (2800 M) trek (3 hours trek) plus 30 minutes for Budhaban: - From Tosh we can start late after having checking of all equipment, food items and staff. We can hire ponies from Tosh in summers but for the early months of year, we can hire porters. The trek from Tosh to Kutla (which is again a small village with one rest house) is very nice through pine trees and waterfalls. You can see the snow covered mountain cliffs in the background during the trek. We can stay in the rest house or we can use our tents too for this night. Budhaban is just 30 minutes more walk from Kulta, till Kutla (local pronounce it basically Kotla), there are guest houses on the way. Juniper, Maple and Cedar trees contribute to the vegetation of this region.
Day 05: Kulta to Saran Thatch (3400 M)- 12 Kms - Morning we start trekking to Saran (few call this place Saram also, but in the local dialect of Kullu, saran is the place where cows and buffalos are kept during summers, so we call it Saran logically. The entire valley offers you variety of flowers to admire. The trek takes about 4 hours to reach Saran where we can camp for the night.
Day 06: Saran to Samsi Thach (3750 M)- 12 Kms – The trek of this day is again beautiful along the Tosh River on the way. It takes about 6 hours trek this day. This day we camp near the Tosh River bank which looks like an island traversed by clean water streamlets coming down from the left side of Tosh River. The valley is huge and you can meet local villagers collecting herbs and medicinal plants. Juniper bushes are found in abundance in this valley and you will find herbs thrown around to dry by villagers. (Thach is a local dialect means flock of sheep) From here we can see seven prominent peaks in a line and so the glance is awe-inspiring.
Day 07: Samsi Thach to Kuta Thach /Base Camp (4200 M) – It takes about 4 hours to cover this distance of about 7 Kms on the right side of River Tosh. We trek towards the Tosh Glacier crossing through a cold stream. The base camp is a meadow and beautiful area in deed again beside a stream. During summers, shepherds do meet with their flocks in this BC area. The ponies or porters will leave the team here. Here we find some stone erected of two climbers Malabi Das from Indian and Roger Redmayne from New Zealand who died while climbing Papsura in different years. (From Kuta Thach or BC of Dharamsura and Papsura peaks, one can cross SARA UMGA PASS (4700 M) in one day and reach CHATRU on Manali- Spiti road)
Day 08 to Day 21: Higher camps (no fix rope needed till Camp III), summit attempts and back to BC.
Day 22: BC to Tosh Village, trekking almost full day.
Day 23: Tosh to Manali drive
Day 24: Full day to explore Manali and its surroundings.
Day 25: Drive to Delhi
Day 26: Morning visit to IMF and later transfer to international airport.
In addition to Dharamsura, one can attempt on Papsura too, which means at least 12-15 more days are required from Base Camp.
